Whenever I see an assembly tutorial they always say something along the lines of “you will never need to use assembly language in your every day job but it can’t hurt to learn”. I usually see this while I am going through old assembly at work trying to figure out what’s going on.

@big_chip Why in the world does your work want you to go through old assembly language files?

@Lofenyy we have some old products where the code running on the chip was written in assembly that occasionally need bug fixes and such. Also a few current products that use some assembly when you have timing critical code where you need to know exactly how many instruction cycles something is going to take.
