The great thing about having a pot of tea is the ramp up in strength.

The first cup is a gentle and delicate introduction to the tea.

The second is the tea showing you what it can do.

The third is the tea clubbing you in the face full force.

My wife is always upset that I say sheet of bread instead of slice of bread.

Thinly slice carrot into sticks.
Thinly slice red pepper into sticks.
Thinly slice some red onion.
Season with salt.
Pour on a glug of white wine vinegar.
Add some sugar.
Mix mix mix.

Shwarma.
Burritos.

You can see where the excessive dry weather affected this hydrangea. Leaves started growing on last year’s growth but dried out. It was the first sign things were too dry. Came back to life though its a bit untidy, ill just let it grow this year and tidy it up next year.

French beans have started to climb their poles at last. I made the poles from long branches cut from the overgrown hedge at the back as I couldn’t get any canes this year.

The potatoes are going well, had their last mounding up a couple of weeks back and have just grown so much in that time. Just waiting for flowers to bloom and die and then they should be ready to take up.

These are second early ‘jazzy’ potatoes, supposed to be really tasty! I thought a late frost had killed them because they lost a lot of leaves early on but they sprung up fine.

The carrots are a go slow plant it would appear. They are small but the ones that came up appear to be happy after thinning out.

I did try and replant the ones I took out after thinning but they died fast, apparently carrots hate being transplanted.

Rather foolishly took my eyes off the prize and let the spinach bolt, quite enjoy the plants though so not all is lost. I’ll pull it up soon and set some more.
