For iOS users I would definitely recommend “Toot!” app, so far the best I’ve used, I am really liking it.

@eruizdechavez @tootapp Agreed; the best way I have found, is clicking through hashtags; following a bunch of people, engaging with people. Good stuff bubbles to the top and it is easy to trim the fat.
It is worth noting, that up-to-date mastodon instances have this great tag explorer feature on the web UI: https://boardgames.social/tags/boardgames as an example.
